MIX was pleased to welcome 35 students from Bocconi University, enrolled in the IT Consulting course, part of the optional course offerings within the Master’s degree programs.
During the visit, the session was enriched by contributions from Simone Morandini, who introduced the role of IXPs and peering, and Mauro Roberto Magrassi, who shared insights on the economics of peering and the unique positioning of MIX.
Students also explored key aspects of Internet interconnection and the operational dynamics behind Internet Exchange Points. The program concluded with a Data Center tour, offering a first-hand view of how critical Internet infrastructure is designed and operated at scale.
The academic program, led by Professor Ferdinando Pennarola, with contributions from Professor Paola Bielli and support from teaching assistant Laura Negri, aims to bridge theoretical frameworks with real-world industry practices, fostering direct engagement with leading Internet infrastructure operators.
At MIX, we believe in the importance of dialogue between academia and industry, and in opening our infrastructure to those who will shape the future of the Internet.
We thank all participants for their visit and active engagement.
