MIX Customer Portal Revamp

One of the latest projects led by Simone Morandini, Service Development Manager, a well-known face of MIX, is the production of the revamped Customer Portal. MIX has released a revamped customer portal, a website designed purely for an enhanced customer experience when using MIX services.

“We listened to our customers and the revamped Customer Portal has been designed with functionality based on our customers’ needs, part of our continuous effort to provide the best possible service”, said Simone.

Simone is responsible for the MIX customer interfaces on the interconnection platform and monitoring all activity on the peering LAN. He looks after the internal database which is at the heart of information held at MIX including interconnection resource and service and colocation space used at MIX as well as the automation processes behind the database.

He is passionate about passing on knowledge to others, explaining the importance of MIX activities for the internet in Italy and is the driving force behind MIX’COOL, a program designed for secondary school students, bringing Italian youth closer to the reality of an Internet Exchange Point (IXP) emphasising the importance of IXPs in exchanging and moving data over the internet infrastructure.

So far, what have we seen in the first phase release of the revamped MIX Customer Portal?

In this release phase, the information in the current portal has been reproduced but the information is managed by different back-end software, features that have been enhanced include:

  • Giving more control to the customer: MIX Customers will be able to set up their own account and then multiple accounts independently within the portal.
  • Enhanced statistics: MIX completely re-wrote the software that generates statistics and the collection engine of traffic data is completely new.

“MIX customers can expect to see other features and functionality being added in line with feedback we received from our customers. A focus group of 30 customers tested the first beta version of the latest release providing positive feedback on the revamped Customer Portal but also expressing appreciation for being included in the project”, Simone added.
