Requirements to join the MIX   Formal Requirements: to have a ministerial authorisation released by “Ministero delle Comunicazioni” or by an equivalent Italian communication authority for Internet access activities (only for Italian ISPs); to operate mainly as an “Internet service provider”, with services supplied within its own AS and address space (e.g.: dial-up services, dedicated circuits, ADSL connections, etc.). Technical Requirements: to be a “Local Internet Registry” registered in the RIPE database or equivalent routing registry; to have its own Autonomous System number and to register the corresponding routing policy in the RIPE or equivalent routing registry; to have their own permanent connection to the Internet.
