MIX
opens to "hosters"
Today the MIX Board of Directors relaxes the MIX
admission rules, opening to the "hosters" .
Hosters are those TLC operators acting as
“hosting (virtual or dedicated) services” provider or as “housing services”
provider if only including access to Internet, with services supplied within its
own AS and address space (e.g.: dial-up services, dedicated circuits, ADSL
connections, etc.)
Thanks to this decision, MIX is now in a
position more similar to that of other national and international Internet
Exchanges, and answers to the requests of an importan part of the Italian
internet scenario.
The only constraint the ISPs belonging to the
new category have, is to open peering agreements with all MIX members ask
them for.
