The MegaMIX is the unit of measurement of the increasing of the public peering traffic on the MIX LAN, used for the six-monthly prize.

Each month of each semester, the value of the bandwidth used by every MIX member is compared with the average of the previous semester; the differences between the monthly values and the value of the previous period are algebraically added:

The so obtained value is the value, in MegaMIX, of the increase of the traffic amount during the referred period.

The procedure described above is applied to both incoming and outgoing traffic: these two values are then algebraically added, and contribute as valid MegaMIX if the sum is positive.
