IPv6 Service at MIX

The Milan Internet eXchange  (MIX),  announces the new IPv6 service.

It will be possible activate BGP peerings with the MIX and its members on IPv6 native links.

The new service will undergo a test period and then will become permanent from next autumn.

During the test period the IPv6 service will be provided on a separate VLAN instead of the VLAN in production for IPv4.

The choice of temporary use of a VLAN dedicated to the new service, guarantees that in no way will the experiment affect the smooth running of the Peering IPv4 service. Thus continuing to guarantee the quality of service supplied up to now by MIX.

Regarding this, we would like to remind you that during the test period the additional port and/or the additional space, also the generated traffic, will be provided out of the contractual limits existing for IPv4, obviously after an agreement with MIX.

We would like to ask you to participate in this test phase as much as possible, with your ideas and suggestions, in order to develop a service to satisfy everybody.

The complete disposal, is available in Member's Area.
